  | The Dallas Stars, formerly known as the Minnesota North Stars, are in the Pacific Division in the Western conference. They moved from Minnesota to Dallas in 1993. The Stars lost to the Vancouver Canucks in the 1994 playoffs. In 1999, the Dallas Stars won the franchise's first Stanley Cup. They played the Buffalo Sabres and won the series in six games. he Stars would return to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2000, but this time they would go on to lose to the New Jersey Devils. Since the move to Dallas, the Stars have enjoyed success on and off the ice. In addition to their Stanley Cup win in 1999, they have 2 Presidents' Trophies for having the best overall regular-season record.
